CRACKING THE CODE: Visualizing the Neck via Double-Stops
Implicit in the tuning of the mandolin is a 'map' of the fretboard that mandolin players rely on to play in any key. Using two string mini-chords (double-stops)
and the tune Silent Night, this workshop will jump-start your understanding of
this map (as well as explore the technique of tremolo).

Playing rhythm is an essential (and fun) yet often overlooked aspect of mandolin playing This workshop covers the gamut of mando rhythms, from bluegrass to country shuffle, folk and Irish to reggae.

MAKING YOUR MANDO SING: A Guide to Soloing
Utilizing the classic bluegrass song New River Train, this workshop will show
you how to use harmonized notes, vocal cues and strums to transform a simply melody into a full-sounding mandolin solo. It also introduces some essential
end-of-phrase licks that can make a lead really jump.
